Getting started

Activate your cardTo confirm

1. Open the box and scan the QR code inside the lid.
2. Sign in or create your TapInfo account.
3. Tap the card on your phone when asked. It’s now linked to your TapID.
4. Fill in your profile and choose what a tap shows.

Tapping

Tapping with an iPhone

1. Wake the screen. iPhone XS and later read cards without opening anything.
2. Hold the card against the top edge of the phone, near the camera.
3. Tap the notification that appears to open the profile.
4. On iPhone 7, 8 or X, open Control Centre and choose NFC Tag Reader first.

Tapping with an Android phone

1. Check NFC is on: Settings, then Connected devices or Connections, then NFC.
2. Hold the card against the middle of the back of the phone.
3. The profile opens in the browser.

Tapping

The card doesn’t read

1. Hold it still for a second; moving it across the phone is too quick.
2. Try a different spot: top edge on iPhone, middle of the back on Android.
3. Take thick or metal phone cases off and try again.
4. On metal cards, tap with the back, where the inlay is.
5. Still nothing? Scan the QR on your profile instead, and contact us: we replace cards that don’t read.

Replace a lost or damaged card

1. Open TapInfo and go to Cards.
2. Choose the card and select Revoke. It stops opening your profile from the next tap.
3. Order a replacement. When it arrives, activate it; it opens the same TapID.

Pause or revoke a card

Pausing hides your profile from that card until you resume it. Revoking is permanent. Both apply at the next tap and never touch your profile, history or relationships.

Update your details

Edit your profile once. Every card, tag, QR code and link you’ve handed out opens the new version from the next tap. Nothing to reprint.

Each profile field can be shown or hidden. People who tap see only what you’ve chosen.

Where to stick a Tap TagTo confirm

1. Clean the surface and let it dry.
2. Peel and press firmly for ten seconds.
3. Test it with your phone before you rely on it.
4. Very thin metal surfaces can weaken the signal; test first.

Teams

Someone has left your team

1. Open Team, then People.
2. Choose the person and select Offboard.
3. All their work cards are revoked. Relationships made on work cards stay with the organisation.
4. To reuse a returned card, choose Reassign and pick the new person.

Your data

Export or delete your dataTo confirm

From Settings, choose Export to download your profile, taps and relationships as JSON, CSV and vCard. Choose Delete account to erase everything; live data goes within 30 days, backups within 35.

Account

Signing inTo confirm

Sign in at app.tapinfo.io with a passkey or an emailed link. If you’re locked out, email support from the address on your account.
